Did I say 7 days????

I meant 3:) And it has nothing to do with the absence of sugary foods or booze. It is the caffeine! I am absolutely exhausted, and Brett is suffering from the worst migraines. It is so bad for him, he had to go to bed at 6:45pm tonight with no dinner! And that goes completely  against the point of our cleanse...we cleanse WITH food.

So, call us quitters or trainers with no will power, but I think we need to bring a little caffeine back into our lives. It is affecting our daily responsibilities. And don't forget they have recently found that caffeine has been shown to help reduce the risk of Alzheimer's! So, bring it on...

But that being said, I will be continuing with the quality food along with no alcohol. So, I will continue to blog my daily intake...which may include a cup of half/caff....

So here is how day 3 went....

Breakfast: (6:45am)
*Scrambled eggs(1 whole and 1 white) w/ broccoli and onions. Seasoned w/ black pepper
*Slice of Fitness bread w/ 1tbl of almond butter and mashed banana(sprinkled w/ a touch of cinnamon)mmmmm

Lunch: (1pm)
*Slice of fitness bread with 1/2 mashed avocado, topped w/ salsa
*Banana w/ 1 tbl of peanut butter
*Ginger tea

Snack: (4pm)
*banana---yes a 3rd banana! I forgot about the 2nd one when I opened this one....

Snack: (5:30pm)
*Plain greek yogurt drizzled w/ honey (a single serving from Trader Joe's)

Dinner: (7:45pm)
*Arugula salad w/ cucumbers, red peppers, broccoli, black beans, 1/2 avocado dressed with salsa

Desert: (8:15pm)
*Grapefruit---yes, I love the grapefruits!
*1 big spoonful of almond butter---surprise, surprise
*Ginger tea

Exercise for the day: 6 mile run-running them 1 at a time on the treadmill w/ stretching in between. (part of my 1/2 marathon training)

So, another day down. And I can't reiterate enough how important and satisfying it is to eat this way. I am truly content with the nutrition aspect of this cleanse, and I encourage anyone to give it a try. But, I think starting tomorrow, we may be cleansing with a touch of caffeine.

Thanks everyone!

-J
