Day-2....
Well, today was a little different. When I was laying on my sister's basement floor around 3:30pm ready to fall asleep, I was made acutely aware of how much I miss my coffee. I am not suffering from bad headaches, which makes this a little better, but I definitely am sleepy:)
As I said yesterday, the food part is not bad. I am certainly not hungry. It's more about realizing how many products have added sugar. Now, I am not someone who feels that people should avoid natural cane sugar in their daily life...but this is a cleanse. The idea here is to eat the natural foods that our bodies need.
So, this is how day 2 went....
Breakfast: (6:40am)
*Scrambled eggs(1 whole and 1 white) w/ red peppers and broccoli. Again, seasoned with black pepper.
*Unsweetened soy-milk decaf latte
I had to go to work for an 8am, so I continued my breakfast when I got home
*(9:30)Slice of fitness bread with 1 tbl of almond butter and a sliced banana
(10:30 ginger tea)
Lunch: (1pm)
*Arugula salad w/ black beans, red peppers, 1/2 avocado, broccoli-dressed w/ salsa
*Slice of fitness bread w/tbl of almond butter drizzled w/honey
Snack: (5-6pm)
*med. decaf skim latte(5pm)
*handful of cashews(6pm)
Dinner: (7:45)
*Red snapper seasoned with salt and pepper. Drizzled w/ olive oil and baked over sliced onions, garlic, and red peppers. Parmesan cheese sprinkled on to form a light crust. This entire concoction was baked in the oven and served over whole grain couscous.
*The couscous was cooked in water that was seasoned w/ thyme, garlic, and black pepper
Desert: (8:30)
*Whole grapefruit
*Spoonful of almond butter.....can you tell I love the almond butter????
*Ginger tea
.......Exercise for the day was a 3.5 mile run.
And one more note: Other than the herbal teas and decaf lattes, I am drinking good old H20 throughout the entire day. Water-always a must!
Ok, time to go to bed.
Thanks everyone!
